💔 it's cold and rainy and the city threw away 90% of their belongings.
Today has been heartbreaking. This sweet, shy young man, only 20, has only a blanket and some belongings, but lost his tent and sleeping bag when law enforcement (I believe the Fresno PD taskforce) came to the field he is staying in and threw his and other homeless persons' belongings into the trash crusher. It's cold and the city of Fresno is making it harder for people to survive. If anyone wants to donate sleeping bags, they'd be most welcome.
This sweet elderly woman is Darlene. She is lovely and loves to sing along with old tunes on the radio or my record player. She is soft spoken and thoughtful. She is also homeless and we need help with temporary or permanent housing for her. We met her last Sunday night, when we were helping a very compassionate church bring the homeless in during the two nights the low temperature dipped below freezing. The family who headed that effort and I have been taking her in for the night as much as possible. We need your help to get her a place to stay. She wants to get on the waiting list for a local apartment for the disabled and elderly, but there's some documentation she's still needs. I have a stuffed animal she is going to used to decorate her new place when that happens. In the meantime, it would be great for her to have a place to stay. She has been a joy to have over. If you can help in any way, let me know.
Kenadie was part of a three way tie at her school spelling bee. She did so well! #lovemyniece #spellingbee #secondgrade
